Replacement of the High Bridge Bayreuth: controlled demolition with ACDE® Europe hydraulic hammers

With a total project volume of approximately €105 million, the replacement of the High Bridge Bayreuth is one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the region. The dismantling of the existing bridge structure is carried out under strict safety and environmental requirements and demands precise, controlled demolition work in the immediate vicinity of active traffic and infrastructure corridors.
As part of these works, an ACDE® Europe BLTB-175L-5-W hydraulic hammer is being deployed. This marks the first ACDE® Europe hydraulic hammer in the contractor’s fleet and represents an important step towards further cooperation.
Controlled demolition under demanding conditions
The dismantling of the bridge is carried out in phases and in close proximity to active infrastructure. Accordingly, the demands placed on the demolition equipment are high: reliable performance, controlled operating behavior, and a high level of operational safety are essential to avoid downtime and ensure a predictable construction schedule.
The ACDE® Europe BLTB-175L-5-W is part of the BLTB-5 series and is designed for heavy concrete and civil engineering demolition applications. This also standard integrated system enables the recording of operating data, working hours, and maintenance intervals. As a result, maintenance activities become predictable and operational reliability is increased on long-term infrastructure projects.
