ADVANCED CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION EQUIPMENT

ACDE® Europe BLTB-155-5-W becomes part of the performance-driven culture at Glendun Contract Crushing

Glendun was founded by Cahal Carey, who emigrated from Ireland to Australia in 2003. Starting with a single 13-tonne excavator, he began working on construction sites and gradually developed the business into a nationwide contract crushing operation.

The name “Glendun” originates from a small glen in Northern Ireland — a reflection of the company’s humble beginnings and strong roots. Since its founding in 2012, Glendun Contract Crushing has grown from that first machine into one of the fastest-growing contract crushing and screening specialists in Australia. Headquartered in Narangba, Queensland, and operating nationwide, the company supports quarry and infrastructure projects across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia.

Glendun’s growth has been organic and reputation-driven.

Built from practical on-site experience, the company established its market position through reliability, high safety standards, and the consistent delivery of contracted production targets. Today, Glendun operates a fleet of around 140 machines across crushing, screening, and earthmoving operations, with production capacities reaching up to 120,000 tonnes per week. The company follows a clear operational philosophy: no shortcuts, no compromises on safety, and no acceptance of average standards.

Performance-oriented operations

This performance-driven approach aligns closely with the engineering principles of ACDE® Europe and the local service organisation of ACDE® Australia. The integration of the ACDE® Europe BLTB-155-5-W hydraulic hammer into Glendun’s fleet reflects this shared focus on controlled production, durability, and operational efficiency.

Designed for 27–33 tonne carrier machines

The ACDE® Europe BLTB-155-5-W has been designed for carrier machines in the 27–33 tonne class. With an operating weight of approximately 2,482 kg and a tool diameter of 155 mm, the hammer operates with an oil flow of 180–240 l/min at a working pressure of 200–220 bar. This configuration delivers consistently high impact energy in demanding rock environments.

With an impact rate of 200–300 blows per minute, the hammer provides a balanced combination of penetration force and productivity. In contract crushing applications, effective oversize reduction is essential to protect jaw and cone crushers and to maintain a continuous material flow. The ACDE® Europe BLTB-155-5-W enables precise size reduction directly at the extraction point, reducing blockages and mechanical stress within the crushing circuit.

Improved operational transparency

To further enhance operational transparency, the hammer can be equipped with the ACDE® TRACK&CHECK system. This enables real-time monitoring of operating hours, vibration levels, and maintenance intervals. In data-driven operating environments such as Glendun, this supports predictive maintenance planning and optimised fleet management.

ACDE® Europe also offers different tool types for varying rock conditions. These include the P Moil Point for general demolition work, the FX Chisel Tool for controlled material splitting, and the PQ Quarry Tool, specifically designed for high-demand quarry applications and efficient oversize reduction.

The cooperation between ACDE® Europe, ACDE® Australia, and Glendun Contract Crushing represents a shared commitment to safety, productivity, and long-term operational performance in Australia’s growing quarry and infrastructure sector.
